Access

Access within the VGR network is accessed directly via Springer's website above without logging in. Access outside VGR is achieved by logging in via proxy with VGR ID and the same password as for the job email.

Printing and/or copying

The books can be downloaded as PDF in their entirety, but for copyright reasons it is only permitted to print and copy small parts of them.

Other

Use the Adobe Digital Editions program or app to download e-books to your computer or mobile or tablet. Both of these services require you to have an Adobe ID. (Read how to obtain this under "Preparations" below)

Preparations

All people need to complete the first step. You then follow the instructions that apply to the device to which you intend to download the books.

  1. Get an Adobe ID by following the link and registering.

For computers

  1. Download the Adobe Digital Editions program. This program must already be on the VGR computers. If it is missing or if you have an outdated version, call VGR IT (010-473 71 00).
  2. Link your Adobe ID with Adobe Digital Editions by launching the program. After accepting license terms, you get to fill in your Adobe ID.
  3. Done!

For mobile devices (mobile, tablet)

  1. Download the Adobe Digital Editions app.
  2. Connect your Adobe ID with Adobe Digital Editions by opening the app, selecting "Settings" - "Authorize" and filling in your Adobe ID.
  3. Done!

How to borrow books in Springer

If you have found the book in Libris

  1. Click on the "Läs hela" (read fulltext) link. A new window will open and you will be asked to log in to the proxy.
  2. Log in with your VGR ID and password. The book's table of contents will open.
  3. You can choose whether you want to read individual chapters or the whole book at once. If you want to read the entire book, you can choose whether you want to download the book as an EPUB file or as PDF ("Download book" above the table of contents). Individual chapters can only be downloaded as PDF or read directly in the browser.

If you have found the book directly in Springer

  1. Click on the book.
  2. The book's table of contents opens. You can choose whether you want to read individual chapters or the whole book at once. If you want to read the entire book, you can choose whether you want to downlaod the book as EPUB file or as PDF ("Download book" above the table of contents). Individual chapters can only be downloaded as PDF or read directly in the browser.
