Borrow

In order to borrow and reserve our physical stock, it is required that you become a borrower with us. The NU library is only for staff and students connected to NU healthcare.

  1. First, read through our loan conditions.
  2. Register as a borrower.

Once you become a borrower with us, you can log in to view and manage your loans. In the search box on our home page, you can search among all the NU library's books and e-books. If you can't find what you're looking for with us, you can contact us to place an interlibrary loan order.

Loan periods

The loan period for physical stock is 14 days and the book is automatically re-borrowed up to 16 times. You will receive an email every time the book is re-borrowed. If someone is queuing for the book, you need to return it.

Reserve and borrow again

You can reserve a book yourself by logging in to the university library. ATTENTION! You may only borrow one copy of the same title/book.

We send the reservations to you via internal mail to the workplace address you provided when you became a borrower with us. Make sure you always have up-to-date contact details: email address, workplace and mobile number, it facilitates the processing. The books that are sent are on loan to you and you can see in your loan account when they must be returned.

Postage - When can I read the book?

Book orders will go from the university to NÄL every weekday. If you reserve the book before 2 pm, the book will be delivered to you from the next weekday by internal mail.

E-book loan

The loan period of e-books varies depending on where they are borrowed from. Read more on the Digital resources page about how it works.

Return

You return the books via internal mail to Högskolan Väst. E-books are automatically deactivated when the loan period expires.

Interlibrary loan

If you cannot find the book you are looking for, we can borrow books from another library for you. Contact us for more information.
