Accompanying

When visiting the Accidents and Emergency Department only one (1) person is allowed to accompany the patient. This is to avoid overcrowding in the Accidents and Emergency Department premises. Exceptions can be made, but this must be cleared by the staff upon arrival.

Waiting time at the Accidents and Emergency

When you arrive at the Accidents and Emergency department, we will make an assessment. We do this to determine who is most seriously ill and cannot wait, and who can nevertheless wait without any medical risk. For minor ailments, you may be referred to a health care center or home.

The waiting time varies depending on the number of patients as well as depending on day in the week and time of the day. We always attend to the patients that is assessed to be most serious and it is difficult to specify how long it will take until you can see a doctor.

During the summer months of June, July, and August, with many long-distance summer guests in the region, you may be referred to a health care center for minor ailments who can guide you to the right form of care.
