The NU Hospital Group is one of Region Västra Götaland’s hospital groups and consists of five hospitals: the two large hospitals Norra Älvsborg County Hospital in Trollhättan, Uddevalla Hospital in Uddevalla, and the local hospitals in Lysekil, Strömstad and Dalsland. Our 5,000 staff provide specialist care and local healthcare services of high quality for the 275,000 people living in Fyrbodal, NU’s catchment area.
The two large hospitals in Uddevalla and Trollhättan are only 25 km apart, a 20-minute journey by motorway.
Over the next two years the hospitals’ activities will be refocused and Norra Älvsborg County Hospital will concentrate on broad emergency medical care and Uddevalla Hospital on more planned care. This is part of the NU Hospital Group’s “Healthcare in 2010” development programme where we are working hard to improve quality and efficiency in healthcare processes in close cooperation with hospitals in our neighbouring regions.
