BEST COLLABORATION AWARD
We want everyone to take the opportunity during the PhD day to discuss their science with colleges across the different institutions in hope of finding new collaborations. We are proud to announce that we have an award for best collaboration formed during the PhD day. Connections formed during the PhD day will be asked to write an abstract of maximum 500 words and submit the idea before December 3rd. A jury put together by our sponsors will decide on one winning collaboration that receives 10 000 SEK in research funding as a contribution to make their idea become reality.
The best way to get everyone interested in your research and make them want to collaborate with you is to make an excellent 3 minutes presentation in the form of a science slam. The science slam will take place in Birgit Thilander together with some refreshments. To participate send an email to sean.bennet [at] gu.se. A price will be handed out for the best presentation!
Another great way to advertise your research is to make a scientific poster. There will be two poster sessions, one after lunch and one during the afternoon coffee (fika). Take the opportunity to catch people's attention and find a new collaborator. Posters should preferably be in A1 but there will be a limited amount of space so reserve your space by sending an email to shikha.acharya [at] gu.se
AFTER WORK AT VILLA MEDICI
The best way to finish this day and the last chance to find a new collaborator is during the After work at the Sahlgrenska student union house, Villa Medici (Högåsplatsen 6). There will be Science Quiz, pizza, beer and more. A buss will take you from Academicum directly to Villa Medici but unfortunately only limited spaces can be offered to PhD students that are not members of the Student Union SAKS. Therefore, the best way to guarantee your place is to become a member of SAKS and to bring your GU and identification card.
